Palais des Beaux-Arts (27/09 – 25/11/2012), Brussels Design September
Since 2008 BOZAR ARCHITECTURE/ A+ have offered a platform for young Belgian architecture by inviting a different young practice every two months to exhibit a model of one of its recent achievements at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts. The « XX MODELS. Young Belgian Architecture » exhibition presents an overview of those works, bringing together, for the first time, the 20 models that have been on show over the last four years. The exhibition focuses on a young generation of Belgian architects, including, among others, the following practices: Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen, architecten de vylder vinck taillieu, Bureau vers plus de bien-être, noAarchitecten, JDS Architects, and NU Architectuuratelier. Presented in twenty variations, the architectural model is at the heart of this exhibition, which highlights its qualities as a tool for design and communication, as an artwork and as a project in its own right.
Objects, Lighting and Furniture : a life style collection
Objects were born thanks to collaborations with Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz, the Belgian-French-Swiss design group Big Game and Belgian designer and architect Alain Berteau.
Each object from the collection can be configured in bespoke ways in order to adapt to particular interior spaces such as houses, flats, offices or shops.
The Bakelite ball, available in 8 colours, creates a unique design basis for each item.
The combination of beech (Coat stand LOCK, Coat Hooks PIFF), of white glass (BALL lamp) or of Tubular Lighting (RAY) integrate subtly in all environments, working spaces or exhibition areas.
